National Museum of African American History & Culture (NMAAHC)

📍Where in the world is Déja? 🌎✨ — Washington, DC 🇺🇸

Happy Black History Month! It felt right to post about my visit to the National Museum of African American History & Culture (NMAAHC) on this first day of February. This museum is my favorite Smithsonian, and a definite MUST-SEE for anyone visiting Washington, DC. DC used to be known as ‘Chocolate City’ because it was predominantly populated by African-Americans. Though gentrification and rising cost of living has pushed some of the black population outside of city limits, NMAAHC is a great preservation of black history and culture in the District. Its not the only black history museum in DC, but it is the newest, largest, and most popular. Swipe left to see a couple of my favorite sights in the museum. “African Americans are leading and shaping global conversations that will define this century.” — Where is your favorite black history museum?
