Sandboarding & Dune-Buggying in Huacachina

Interrupting my stream of hike posts to highlight a throwback adventure — sand boarding!! Huacachina is a small town in southwestern Peru (and when I say small, I mean small — it doesn’t even have an ATM!!). Huacachina is know for the oasis in the middle of the desert, but the main activity there is dune-buggying sandboarding. The dune-buggy was so fun and scary omg! I tried to video it, but the video just didn’t do the experience justice. It was like a rollercoaster frfr, I LOVED IT! and thennnnn we got to sand board, which was also scary at first. We did 5 or 6 different hills all FACE FIRST — talk about an adrenaline rush (swipe left to see video footage)! At the end of the tour, we all took shots of Peruvian wine while watching the sunset. Beware: while it’s gets into the 90s during the day, the temp dropped QUICK. Overall, bomb experience: 10/10 recommend!! — Have you ever been sand boarding before?
